Gateway to Grand Lake O' The Cherokees and Lake Hudson

Welcome to Adair, not only is it the best hay and cattle country, it's also the gateway to two lakes... Grand Lake O' The Cherokees and Lake Hudson.  Adair is only 4 miles to water.

Adair has achieved the status of an Oklahoma Certified City.

Adair is situated on three busy highways; US 69, State Highway 28 and I-44.

Adair has one of only two high schools in Mayes County independently accredited by the North Central Association.

Adair is the site of the historical Dalton Gang Train Robbery.

Adair is just minutes from the world's largest Totem Pole; the world's largest McDonalds; the world's largest Pizza Hut, and the world's largest Multiple Arch Dam.

Adair is near the state's largest flagpole; the world's largest western movie set, and the battle site of one of the biggest victories for the Confederates during the Civil War.

Adair is the home of the four star Army general, Harley Arnold Hughes; a heart surgeon, 72 Eagle Scouts, the Oklahoma Gulf War Memorial, Dry Gulch U.S. A., Sam's Town U.S. A., and the most recent 2A Girl's State Softball Champions.

The Adair Chamber of Commerce and City council are always working together to improve our community. The chamber has planted 100 bushes around the county barn. We are presently working on plans to "redo" the city park.  We want a unique look to our town so that people will stop instead of just passin' thru.  See main street now and the main street of the future.....

We have added new businesses just in the last year. "Safari Joe's" Zoological Park will open soon.

Dry Gulch U.S.A. Christmas Train has delighted young and old alike with its unforgettable train ride and retelling of the Christmas story amidst an Old West setting.  With lots to do and see, an evening at The Christmas Train is sure to be the highlight of your holidays and add to the desired effect of the area.

Should someone a hundred years from now look back on the history of Adair, what will they see?  They will see a city of vision and strength, one that is prepared for the growth that surely lies ahead. History will play as important a role in the future, as it has in the past.

Adair has a little something for everyone and although its history is memorable, its future is assured.
